A few months ago one of my sisters (I have four sisters) served a glazed kielbasa bites appetizer that was to-die-for. It was so good, I begged and pleaded with her to give me the recipe so that I could share it on the blog. I’m just kidding, all I had to do was ask and she gave it to me. #sistersarethebest To be completely honest, I also wanted to be able to make it whenever I wanted. I would have begged for the recipe if I had to- it was that good. Besides, what kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t do everything I could to share awesome and delicious things when I found them?
Kielbasa – 1 package
Pineapple preserves- 12 oz. (1 small jar)
Heat oven to 350
1} Cut kielbasa into 1/4 inch slices and transfer to a mixing bowl
2} Add the 12 oz. jar of pineapple preserves and mix together.
3} Transfer to a baking dish
4} Bake at 350 for 45 minutes stirring occasionally.
You can extend the baking time if you like the kielbasa if you like it crispier.
Teeny Tip: You can skip the mixing bowl and mix the ingredients in the baking dish. That way it is one less dish to wash. I used a mixing bowl to try and keep the sides of the baking dish pretty for pictures and serving (mostly for the pictures). I totally forgot about having to stir the glazed kielbasa appetizer while it was baking.
This is the third time I made the glazed kielbasa bites and they were delicious every time. I had every intention of sharing the recipe with you the first time I made it for the kids graduation party but it was so hectic that by the time I remembered to take pictures, it was too late. The guests had devoured it. It happened the second time too.
The third time, I put some aside and cooked it the next day to make sure I got some pictures. I also made a note to myself:
When you want to make a recipe to share on Teeny Ideas, make it for Teeny Ideas. DO NOT make it the day of a party.
P.S. You will also earn brownie points with your family:)
I serve the glazed kielbasa bites as an appetizer but add a couple of sides and it could easily be a main dish. Don’t let my pictures fool you. The glazed kielbasa bites are delicious, a crowd pleaser not to mention it only requires two ingredients. It doesn’t get easier than that. It is a total “Rice Krispy Treat” recipe. You know, your are in the kitchen for 45 minutes and your family thinks you are slaving away only you are getting 35 minutes of “you time”. Enjoy!
