Halloween Kitchen and Family Room

Welcome to my Halloween kitchen and family room. Halloween is just four days away so I finished decorating the kitchen and family room just in time.I didn’t have time to do a ton of decorating so I just picked one spot in each room and that made it easier and more fun. I decorated the window in the kitchen and the shelves in our family room. There are a lot of pictures

KITCHEN

In the kitchen, I went with a spider theme. I hung spider web embroidery hoops from a tension rod in the window.

I spray painted some old embroidery hoops black and used an old lace table runner to make the web. Then I hot glued a spider on each web. To finish them off, I glued  strands of black and white thread and dangled a spiders  from them,

I also added spiders to the pendant light.

I added Spanish moss, pumpkins and more spiders to the scale.

I can almost guarantee that I will miss a couple of spiders when I pack things up. I will probably find them at Christmas and scare myself.

FAMILY ROOM

I picked up gauze material from Target and added it to the shelves and the top of the piano.

I filled  cloches and jars with creepy curiosities and potions.

I found free printables on the internet and put them in frames. I got them a couple of years ago and I can’t remember the website. When I find out, I will add a link. You can try googling “free halloween graphics” If you find the, could you let me know where you got them?

To make the potions, I just filled bottles with water and added food coloring.

I used old books to vary the height of the cloches and make the shelves more interesting. If the spines of the books don’t fit with your decor, just turn them so the pages are facing out.

Did you ever get the feeling you were being watched?

I printed the Arsenic label from the internet, tore the edges and torched the edges to make it look old. I’m sure there is a better way to do this but that is what I came up with. Or should I say Big Daddy is sure there was a better way…

Thanks for stopping by to see our Halloween kitchen and family room. Are you decorating for Halloween? I would love to hear about it! I have two more projects I would like to get done. Hopefully I will get to them, otherwise I will save them for next year. Now I am off to buy Candy for me the Trick or Treaters.
