Garage Sale Finds- June

If you like garage sales, then you know there is nothing better than a townwide garage sale. Nothing except three townwide garage sales in two weeks and I was able to go to all three! I was pretty happy with my purchases. I cleaned them up a bit and took a few pictures to show what I got.

I was mainly on the lookout for anything I could use as outdoor planters especially baskets and terracotta pots. I was also hoping to find an interesting piece for the garden. I think I did pretty good. I got a few baskets, an old terracotta pot and a few vintage pieces that I couldn’t pass up.

This basket was $2. I loved the curvy handle. I think it will be perfect for a flowering vine.

Another $2 basket/planter

I like the size and shape of this basket but the finish needs some work. I scooped it up for $1.

I found this old terracotta pot for $1.

I crush on galvanized metal big time. I was so excited to find this vintage watering can for $1. The spout was a little rusted but you know that makes me love it more.

The crate is in great shape and has a lovely patina. I gave it to my mom.

I found this small size vintage ironing board, complete with a cover for $5. The ironing board will be fun to use as a display stand.

garage sale find june vintage cabinet

Okay people this is a big score for me. I finally found the perfect piece to repurpose as a vanity for the powder room. The cabinet is solid wood in near perfect condition and it was $30! I wanted to just buy it right there but I took the measurements and went home to make sure it would fit in the powder room. I also called Big Daddy to see what he thought. He liked the cabinet and told me to get it even if it didn’t fit, we could find a place for it. The house was right around the corner from me so I was not totally insane for leaving to go home and measure the space. I just picked a heck of a time to “adult”. I went back to get the cabinet and the woman said “It’s marked $30 but you can have it for $25. The garage sale gods were smiling down on me or this would have been a very different post.

vintage wrought iron plant stand

I didn’t find anything at the second sale, but that is okay.

The following week, at the third townwide garage sale. I found this vintage wrought iron plant stand in all its rusty goodness. There was no price on it but the woman said someone offered her $25 but it could be mine for $26. Ummm… hello sold! It is going in the garden, I don’t know where yet but it is the type of piece you find a place for.

That wraps up my June garage sale finds. I had a pretty good garage sale season so far. If those are the only three garage sales I get to this year, you won’t hear me complaining. I’ll be on my deck sipping something and enjoying my garden. Have a great weekend and do something that makes you smile!
