Hi, my name is Kristine and I have O.D.D. – Obsessive Decorating Disorder- self diagnosed. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionately obsessed with all things decorating. For instance, when I was in high school, I convinced a friend to the paint department in Sears where I got a paint chip in every single color. I also love garage sales/thrifting, DIY, organizing and all things vintage. I love the look and feel of a collected home. Every home has a story, by mixing old and new pieces, we can tell our home’s “story”. Adding a little bit of sparkle- and some rust too never hurts. Oh, and every room needs “the unexpected”. I got that from HGTV’s  “Room by Room”. Do you remember that show? I miss it,

I remember when we moved into our first home, the cable had just gotten hooked up, and I was channel surfing. I came across HGTV and instantly became addicted. Fast forward to about two and a half  years ago, we just moved into our third home. Maybe i was just overwhelmed but I had lost my decorating mojo. Magazines had the same old stuff. I should’ve known right then that I was in a rut because I LOVE decorating magazines. So I did what I normally do when I have a question, I googled “decorating ideas”. I clicked on one result that caught my eye, it was a decorating blog. That night, I spent hours reading that blog- all the way back to the first post. Blogs opened up a whole new world for me. There are so many creative, inspiring bloggers out there. They are so giving and open, sharing their ideas and ” how to’s” and also tidbits about their lives. Blogs helped to inspire me. They sparked my creativity and got me out of my decorating rut. So, for the last couple of years, every time I did something or saw something cool, I made it into a blog post in my head. Then I started to think “I think I can do this, I want to blog”. That brings us to my baby blog Teeny Ideas.

A little more about me. I probably should have started off with this, but I like to save the best for last. I am a mother to three great (most of the time..) kids and I have an amazing husband (after all, he puts up with me). I lovingly refer to him as “Big Daddy”, my partner in crime D.I.Y. He is my behind the scenes guy- he helps bring my decorating plans to life. (that’s code for does the math and makes sure nothing is going to fall apart, or kill anyone.) We also have two cats. One who is bossy and pukes randomly, and the other is weight challenged and sheds excessively. Last but not least our dog. She wiggled her way into our hearts four years ago and has not let go. I think she has anxiety but that’s okay. We all have our quirks. (she’s in the right place) If any of this sounds familiar, you think you have O.D.D. or just love to talk decorating – welcome. Grab a cup of coffee or a diet coke and lets chat. I hope to share my decorating hits and misses as well as things I have learned along the way. I would also love your feedback.
